A Tribute to Ken

Last night leaders from Fermoy scout group left their neckerchief’s at home and met at a local debating establishment.    It was a welcome opportunity to relax, share a joke and chat amongst ourselves for a bit about things outside of scouting.  That said we had one important piece of business to conduct before the end of the night.  Ken Barry known far and wide as a Fermoy scouter is enjoying 20 years as a volunteer leader with our group  and the occasion was notably marked by a special presentation made by Dave Bartley on behalf of Fermoy Scout Group.

Down through the years Ken has been at the forefront of scouting here in Fermoy and we attribute a large proportion of our success as a group to his knowledge of scouting and his willingness to help others.  No job was too large or too small for Ken.  Whether it was running his very successful cub section,  helping out in the beaver section or running National,  County or local events Ken took it in his stride and did it all in his own inimitable way.  So to our leader, colleague and friend we say well done Ken and we wish you continued success well into the future.
