Rover Investiture 2011

Welcome to the new Rover scout section of our site!

We hope that over the coming years we will be able to bring you many articles from home and abroad about our activities and adventures.  We made history for Fermoy Scout Group on the 16th of December, when 10 Rover scouts were invested into the first ever Rover section.  We were honoured that the Chief Scout of Ireland Michael John Shinnick accepted our invitation to perform the investiture.  The Chief was on an official visit to ScoutingFermoy as he was presenting the Chief Scout Award to Brian O’Mahony of Eagle Patrol.  Our group leader James O’Donoghue spoke of his delight on opening the new section and wished the Rovers well on their many adventures, before assisting the Chief with the investiture.  Fermoy Scout Group now has five sections operating ranging in age from six to twenty-five and we at ScoutingFermoy would like to add our voice to the many others who wish the new Rovers every success into the future.
